• Qantas further status extension

My travel involves something like 8 trips between Sydney to DFW or LHR every year. So losing SC is a pain but not fatal. As long as there is lounge access at LHR (Gold is fine) and with AA in DFW then all is good. What is an issue is how long QF will mothball their international ops allied with t...

Extra point to note is that LA traffic can be very bad so if driving any distance then careful of the rush hour traffic.

The beaches close by, In Out burgers for a view of the aircraft and just chill out. Don't bother with Hollywood but if you must then the Dream hotel rooftop bar for lunch. CBD is definitely not worth a visit

  • Personal thing but I eat at the lounge and crash out on the flight. Most frequent lounges are London, Sydney (First) and DFW where they have a decent selection. Otherwise the QF catering on board is good.

  • Last couple of trips via DXB back to Sydney there was secondary screening at the gate.

  • Ryanair- Can it be done?

It's a short hop as most EU flights are compared to the distances we are used to so just treat it as a bus service. Bring your own refreshments and it will be a bit cramped. I tend to use Easy Jet over others but much of a muchness between all LCC in Europe.

  • Singapore is a fantastic place so with that amount of time why not head out to Clarke Quay. Grab a late dinner and some drinks. Maybe something at Little India. At that time of night it's a quick 20 mins each way by taxi.

  • Try and stay loyal to QF but these days on the QF1 run, often jump into BA to freshen up and then out. The Singapore lounge does get very busy.

  • Qantas's presence in Asia and America

    Trivial Pusuits question

  • Blast. That and the pork bau are my staples. On a CX flight this week may have to resort to something less satisfying. Truly a first world problem

  • Qantas Dallas/Fort Worth lounge

Same problem a while back and I found the AA lounge at Terminal A (or B, cannot recall). Very small but had a decent shower and aforementioned stiff drink. The One World lounge issue at Terminal D is abysmal given it is an AA hub.

Maybe QF can make the next safety vid with the tradies view of the world. 'Yeah mate nah'Cannot be any worse than 'Hey Bec'.

  • Pretty loyal to QF. However occasionally duck into CX for the Asian dishes of the day and showers.
